What ?

The EPF supports communities by preparing land for their planned development projects if they match one of the agency's three main lines of intervention. These are :

  • Developing land offer for social housing and urban renewal
The EPF helps local communities to create social housing offer and promotes urban renewal operations of all kinds by reusing derelict land.
  • Anticipating land change on industrial sites and supporting large economic projects of regional or national interest
To avoid brutal relocations, it can be useful to act upstream of the emergence of industrial brownfields. In this regard, the EPF's intervention is aimed at supporting the transformation of abandoned or reconfigured industrial sites (through land ownership and/or recycling works).
  • Continuing the development of green and blue patterns in Nord-Pas de Calais
The agency takes part in the development of green and blue patterns in our region. Its objective is to consolidate "Coeur de nature" sites and to strengthen the interconnections between those sites. This action is carried out in cooperation with the Conseils Généraux and the nature parks.

Important notes:

  • The support provided by the EPF is an additional intervention; it is not a substitute to land action by the communities.
  • The EPF's intervention on a given territory requires that the project decided by the local community matches the EPF's lines of intervention, but also that the community "contractualises" with the EPF. This is done by signing a convention.
  • Land ownership is not carried out on irrecoverable funds and is limited in time
  • The agency is not designed to subsidise local communities.
